This Cyber Saathi awareness program is customized to sensitize and orient Government Authorities and Law Enforcement Agencies (“LEA”) on existing and emerging cybercrime threats, vulnerabilities and trends. The modules will include gender and child sensitivity in handling offences against women (and other genders) and children. The program will address primarily issues pertaining to applicable laws, investigation of cybercrimes with sensitivity towards victims and their issues and concerns, collection and retention of electronic evidence and the mode and manner of presenting evidence before Courts.
The program for Government Authorities will also focus on policy making and international laws that are relevant in formulating laws, regulations or policies for India.
The program for LEAs will not only focus on applicable laws and processes but also sensitize them in the handling of offences against women and children and in particular in the search, seizure, retention and reliance on sensitive personal content pertaining to women and children in trials. The program is structured keeping in mind the vast experience of the Founder Ms. N. S. Nappinai in training police and other LEAs on cybercrimes and appreciation of electronic evidence.
The Modules for Government Authorities will be customized to not only address existing laws but also on policy making. It will touch upon international laws and cases and guide Government Authorities.
These customized modules will be conducted both offline and online based on the requirements of the Government Agencies / LEAs.
Cyber Saathi will be undertaking programs under this initiative through its internal resources and also with collaborations and partnerships with other Civil Society Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations; Governmental organizations / Initiatives, individuals / corporates / educational entities / law enforcement agencies / Police Academies / Judicial Academies.
