This Cyber Saathi awareness program is intended to introduce adults to the trends in cybercrimes and to sensitize them to the growing menace on digital platforms (All modules address not just online threats but those on digital mediums) and in handling the issues and concerns afflicting children and young adults, who may fall prey to predators online and on digital platforms.
Adults will be trained to become cyber Saathis or cyber friends to not only children and young adults but to their peers through this awareness program. It is intended to create gender sensitivity and also sensitivity to the unique situation that children and young adults are placed in with society readily arming them with digital devices but not with understanding of the risks and threats that go with such technology. The program also sensitizes the audience to handling situations that may arise either within their families, educational institutions or organizations or professional circle and help them to understand how to handle the situation at the first – level and to then seek applicable professional guidance.
The program will be customized to each segment addressed herein above. Civil Society Organizations (“CSO”) for instance will undergo awareness programs that are most significant to their requirements in the field of their focus.
Parents / teachers will be undergoing awareness programs that best suit their requirements. All programs will focus on gender sensitization and also on issues and concerns impacting children.
For professionals, the programs if mandated through professional or business verticals or organizations will be customized based on the specific requirements of the category of professionals (i.e., lawyers, Chartered Accountants etc.,).
Cyber Saathi will be undertaking programs under this initiative through its internal resources and also with collaborations and partnerships with other Civil Society Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations; Governmental organizations / Initiatives, individuals / corporates / educational entities / law enforcement agencies / Educational Institutions.
