Arun Anant is an entrepreneur and business professional with over thirty years of experience. His main areas of work include general management, value creation media, marketing and communications.

Arun’s area of interest has been on future proofing organisations. He also has a keen interest in innovation and creativity.

He was Chief Executive at the Hindu and UTV News (which later became Bloomberg), CEO at Mint, Business head at the Economic Times and Revenue & Strategy director at Hindustan Times. In these roles he has been deeply involved in  business planning, organisation design, market entry strategies and environment scanning. Arun set up The Hindu’s think tank: The Hindu Centre for Politics and Public Policy.

As the head of strategy at Lintas (now Mullen Lowe) where he worked on communication, strategy and research for companies such as Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, Cadbury, Philips, and Britannia among others. His focus was on consumer insights, long term brand building and advertising communications.

Arun also helped set up a stock market portal as business head which transited to a content technology company.

He has been an industry representative at CII and Marketing & Advertising Industry Associations.  

Arun is a promoter and co-founder of Realtime Taxsutra Services – a tax intelligence platform, and Hyperstate Tech – a tech service platform.

He was a Non-Executive Director at Mitra.org a not-for-profit organisation that enables people to bring skills and expertise to the rural and social development sector in India through volunteers and paid professionals.

He works closely with Education Institutions and their incubation centres. He is currently a visiting faculty at IIT BHU and Banasthali Vidyapith. He was a visiting faculty at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and mentor at Centre for Incubation Innovation and Entrepreneurship at IIM Ahmedabad.

Arun is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, BHU and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
